As the
only Dental School in Puerto Rico, the School of Dentistry of the
University of Puerto Rico has earned a reputation of excellence and
commitment to serve the oral health needs of our community. Our
mission is accomplished through three fundamental academic
activities: education, research and service. General and specialty
dental care clinics enable the School to offer dental services
to the
community.

Through classroom and clinical instruction future dentists and
specialists are trained for practice in private offices, hospitals,
academia, public agencies and research programs. Our School values
life-long learning, critical thinking and social responsibility
towards our patients and the community.
The School of Dentistry offers a Doctoral Program in Dental Medicine and
advanced education programs in: Pediatric Dentistry, Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and a General
Practice Residency, all fully accredited by the Commission on Dental
Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Research
activities are carried out in collaboration with other components of
our University and through agreements with national and
international universities. A solid continuing education program
improves the quality and quantity of educational opportunities for
all persons providing oral health care, and enables them to offer
excellence in patient care.
Clinical Services, focused on patient’s overall well-being, are
rendered at the School's modern clinical facilities. Carefully
planned patient services, under faculty supervision, strengthen the
academic program and support research initiatives of students and
faculty. Patient services are offered at primary, secondary and
tertiary levels in intramural and extramural clinics. I hope our
Website will provide helpful information about our Institution.
