Vision of Transformation

of the Clinical Assessment System

The clinical assessment system of the UPR School of Dental Medicine is fully understood and thoroughly used by both faculty and students to improve student performance throughout the curriculum. The system:

  • utilizes well defined criteria and instruments,
  • is based on the School’s competencies,
  • promotes critical thing, self-assessment and self-directed learning,
  • is standardized and used in all the pre-clinical and clinical dental classes of the undergraduate curriculum, and
  • facilitates faculty calibration.
